ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- Congratulations to the KMOX newsroom for being awarded four Regional Edward R Murrow Awards - among the most respected journalism achievements in the world.
This year, our anchors, reporters, and editors are being honored for local coverage of Breaking News, Excellence in Innovation, Best Newscast and with the prestigious Overall Excellence recognition.

BREAKING NEWS COVERAGE
On February 24, 2020, a gunman shot an employee at a community center in one of the St. Louis area's largest suburbs. KMOX provided late-night live coverage, as our reporters converged on the scene.
NEWSCAST
As the virus made its presence felt in St. Louis for the first time, KMOX provided reliable, actionable information. This is the 7 a.m. hour of news from Total Information AM on March 18, 2020.
EXCELLENCE IN INNOVATION
The world changed and KMOX reporter Megan Lynch was listening. She found a common thread through more and more of her stories - how to cope with our new virtual existences. Megan would identify the need for this newfound beat. She's now dubbed our "Virtual Consumer Editor."
OVERALL EXCELLENCE
KMOX News fostered understanding on some of the most complex and contentious issues St. Louis faced in 2020. Our reporting manifests through hourly news reports, deep dive stories, and web/app dispatches.
Murrow Award winners put public interest above all else, spur public discussion, adhere to a code of ethics, and "exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community."
The Radio Television Digital News Association has been recognizing outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism since 1971 with the Edward R. Murrow awards.
RTDNA says: "Murrow Award winning work demonstrates the excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession."
