St. Louis' sports enemy number one is now buying his way into Major League Baseball.

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment already boasts a global empire that includes the now-Los Angeles Rams, the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche, and English soccer giant Arsenal.

Now, the company is acquiring a controlling stake in the Los Angeles Angels.

The purchase deepens Stan Kroenke's roots in Southern California, nearly a decade after he yanked the Rams out of St. Louis, trashing the region in his relocation application and sparking a massive lawsuit.

The Angels deal also comes with some heavy local irony. Once the sale closes early next year, Kroenke will be the ultimate boss of Angels interim General Manager John Mozeliak, and he'll be writing checks to Albert Pujols, who is under a personal services contract with the franchise until 2032.
