One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting near major cross-streets on the edge of the Soulard neighborhood Friday evening, St. Louis Police confirm.
Officers from the 3rd District responded to a shooting in the area of South 7th Street and Russell Boulevard around 6 p.m. One man who was shot has died. A second person was also shot and is listed in stable condition. Homicide detectives are responding, according to SLMPD.
KMOX's Ivy Lyons reported from the scene at 7 p.m. that the shooting appears to have started at the Phillips 66 at that intersection before moving down one block.
Drivers in the area will notice a heavy police presence keeping traffic from getting toward and into Soulard. Larger trucks and semis have been directed to pull off into other areas.
