ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - "We are witnessing a tragic, but truly avoidable humanitarian crisis."

That's one of the statements made by National Campaign for Human Dignity co-chair Walle Amusa during a Saturday afternoon news conference outside the Robert F. Young Federal Building in downtown St. Louis.

The group says it condemns the October 7th Hamas attacks of innocent civilians in Israel, as well as Israel's taking of innocent Palestinian lives in Gaza.

Amusa called on President Biden and Congress to support an end to the blockade of basic needs to Gaza, "If your faith can justify an unjustifiable denial of food, water, and medicine, then you need to go back and check that faith again. It's not faith. That is cruelty on a massive level."

Amusa also suggested ethnic cleansing is happening, "The Israeli government gave Palestinians 24 hours to move out of the land of which they were born. If anyone thinks that is right, they are out of their freaking mind. And you can quote me on that."

The National Campaign for Human Dignity is also asking for the immediate commencement of U.S. sponsored Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
