
St. Louis Metropolitan Police arrested a man that was involved in a Monday shooting in Dutchtown that injured a child and two adults.
According to police, officers responded to a shots fired incident Monday at the 2800 block of Keokuk Street just before 2 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found three victims, including a 12-year-old black male, all with gunshot wounds to the leg.
According to officers, preliminary investigations showed two kids, a 12-yearold black male and female were involved in an dispute. Adults later got involved, with the situation escalating to the middle of the street.
The situation would become heated as one of the victims, a 40-year-old black female, struck the female child with an umbrella. The situation would escalate further as a 30-year-old man would shoot the three victims in the legs.
The 30-year-old man, who was arrested without incident, claimed he shot at the victims in self defense.
The 12-year-old male child and the 40-year-old female were transported by EMS to area hospitals where they are in stable condition. Another victim, a 41-year-old black male was able to transport himself to a local hospital and is also in stable condition.
St. Louis police are still investigating the incident as of Tuesday afternoon.
