ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Cedar Hill man is in custody after being involved in a situation on Highway 30 near Executive Parkway that led to both directions being temporarily closed Friday.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a tip that Mark A. Delbrook, 58 drove away from his home. Delbrook has had a warrant out on him since Oct. 19 after he allegedly victimized multiple neighbors.
A responding deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on Delbrook knowing of the warrant. Delbrook’s vehicle came to rest near Highway 30 and Executive Parkway, where Delbrook was unresponsive to the deputy’s commands.
The Sheriff's Office says Delbrook is believed to have recently made threats toward deputies.
In an abundance of caution, additional deputies, SWAT units, and Crisis Intervention Specialists responded to the scene and Highway 30 was closed in both directions for a short time.
The Sheriff's Office says that they were able to de-escalate the situation and Delbrook was taken into custody with minimal incident. SWAT operators deployed a diversionary device to disorient Delbrook while they approached.
The Sheriff's Office says that a loaded handgun and additional magazines were located inside Delbrook's car when securing the vehicle, but at no point shots were fired and rumors Delbrook was shot were false.
Delbrook was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and is expected to be booked at the Jefferson County Jail afterward. Delbrook was charged with first-degree harassment in relation to the Oct. 19 warrant and he will be held without bond.
