A suspect is now charged in Monday morning's execution-style killing of a man sitting on a curb downtown in broad daylight.
23-year-old Deshawn Thomas is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.
The shooting happened Monday morning around 10 o'clock. It was captured on video and shared on social media... a man with a gun standing over a man sitting on the curb in front of the old Globe Democrat building on North Tucker. The suspect takes half a minute to load his gun, looks around, and then shoots the victim point blank, in the head.
Police spotted the suspect, entering the main library downtown on Olive Street Monday afternoon. Investigators say when they made the arrest, they found a weapon and a shell casing as evidence.
