CAHOKIA, Ill. (KMOX) - Three Metro East cities have officially merged to become Cahokia Heights on Thursday.

Voters approved merging Alorton, Cahokia, and Centreville last fall. Police officers automatically carried over, but every other city employee in each city has to re-apply for their positions.
