CAHOKIA, Ill. (KMOX) - Three Metro East cities have officially merged to become Cahokia Heights on Thursday.
Voters approved merging Alorton, Cahokia, and Centreville last fall. Police officers automatically carried over, but every other city employee in each city has to re-apply for their positions.
Centreville Township Supervisor Curtis McCall Senior will be the first mayor of Cahokia Heights.
