GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOX) -Mayor Mike Parkinson says it's Granite City's way of helping those in need in Ukraine.
St. John UCC Church and its non-denominational cemetery operators are collecting items to send to residents of the war-torn region.
The "Send a Semi to Ukraine" event is this weekend (March 26 & 27) in the parking lot of the church located at 2901 Nameoki Rd. in Granite City.
Hours are nine until four on Saturday and noon until four on Sunday.
Suggested items to donate include: travel size toiletries, baby care products, easy to open packaged non-perishable food, and paper products.
