JEFFERSON CITY (KMOX) - Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt says he's "never seen anything like this" in talking about the public push-back he's witnessed on face mask mandates.
He joined FOX Business this week and shared part of that interview on Twitter, saying "Gov’t shouldn’t mandate those masks or masks for kids. It’s about control & I’m fighting back."
Schmitt, who is running for U-S Senate, says vaccinated people wearing masks is a personal choice.
"The government should be telling people to do that. It's anti-science, it's not based on facts," Schmitt says. "The government requiring people who are vaccinated to wear masks is like, if you've been vaccinated and you want to wear six mask and you want to walk around a park by yourself all day long, this is America. God bless you. Go do it."
He has filed lawsuits against St. Louis City and County, and Kansas City opposing mask mandates.
