Missouri Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick issues a subpoena to Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner over unfulfilled requests for financial records. Fitzpatrick says the request for bank and credit card statements goes back to the previous Auditor's administration.

"Frankly it's time for this to come to an end. The audit needs to be completed so we issued that subpoena today," Fitzpatrick told KMOX's Total Information PM.

Fitzpatrick says the audit began in June 2021, "and it's just been a non-stop stonewalling process from the Circuit Attorney's office, even during the prior administration when Auditor Galloway was in charge. The Circuit Attorney's office is using outside counsel, forcing the Auditor's office to work with them."

In response to the State Auditor's subpoena, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office contends it has cooperated with all requests. A statement says the subpoena was a "surprise", but add the CAO is committed to complying with all requests related to the audit.
