Back to the classroom for the first time since the deadly shooting in their building last month. Students at Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience return to in-person learning Monday and they'll get some assistance with the transition.
"They'll have access to therapists, to counselors, anything they need to help them get through what is going to be a traumatic situation. They've all been through a trauma, whether you're talking about students, whether you're talking about staff and other workers." St. Louis Public Schools spokesman George Sells says the decision to return was made after conversations with students' families. They can also remain virtual if they'd prefer.
Meantime students from Central Visual and Performing Arts, the side of the building where the shooting happened, will not be returning at this time and classes for them remain virtual.
