SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - They're set to start rollin' on the river. In the last couple of weeks, two cruise lines have launched new ships designed to cruise the Mississippi River.

The American Symphony is scheduled to begin cruising the Mississippi in August, while the Viking Mississippi is expected to make its maiden voyage in June. Travel Essential Co-Founder Jeri Clausing tells KMOX's Total Information AM Weekend that Viking's entry into the market will be a big boost to the industry.
Clausing says because Viking has a global following, it will draw more international travelers to the Mississippi and ports along the way like St. Louis and Kimmswick.
