The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers starts testing for radioactive contamination Monday at a Florissant grade school, where the students have been sent home because of earlier tests.

The Army Corps has been called in to give a second opinion, after earlier tests by a lab hired out of Boston found unsafe, high levels of radioactive lead in the Jana Elementary cafeteria, library and on the playground.

Preliminary results expected in two weeks, and final results in a few months.

The some 400 students are on virtual learning for now.
