ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - We haven't seen much of Nelly since he appearance on last year's season of Dancing with the Stars, but he's apparently been busy helping a historic restaurant in his hometown. The St. Louis-born rapper shared a video of himself helping out Crown Candy.
The 107-year-old north St. Louis restaurant fell on hard times like many local eateries last year, but Nelly isn't letting the business go down. He joined restaurateur and philanthropist Todd Graves, CEO of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers on his new show "Restaurant Recovery." It is now streaming on discovery+.
Nelly shared a clip of the episode on social media to his millions of followers:
Back in November, Crown Candy posted photos of Nelly at the 107-year-old candy shop, taking photos with owner Andy Karandzieff, his wife Sherri and the restaurant's staff.
Throughout the pandemic, the iconic north St. Louis restaurant was struggling like many local restaurants to adapt and survive. But they had a record-breaking week of sale leading up to Easter Sunday and seem to be getting back to normal.
The 10-episode "Restaurant Recovery" series will follow who provides hands-on renovations and creative ideas to locally-owner restaurants and help them get back to glory. Also featured in other episodes of the show are rapper Snoop Dogg, actor Rob Schneider, football’s Archie Manning, Roquan Smith and Michael Thomas, the Rebirth Brass Band, Grammy-Award winning group La Mafia, and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal.
