ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - KMOX has obtained a communication sent to St. Louis Police officers at 10:00 Sunday morning.

It reads quote:

"Prisoner Processing is closed until the afternoon watch. This is due to lack of manpower in Prisoner Processing and the Department of Corrections having no space to move prisoners out of the Prisoner Processing area.

Another message will be sent when Prisoner Processing is able to resume operations."

Then, Sunday afternoon, another communication was sent to officers saying:

"Prisoner processing is open. Please remember that the supervisor on duty MUST be contacted prior to transport of any unruly or aggressive prisoners to ensure there is sufficient space and manpower."

In addition to the Prisoner Processing manpower shortage, once again, KMOX received an inter office memo that went out to St. Louis Police officers Sunday, advising there will only be three police dispatchers for all six districts for the duration of the afternoon shift. It then reminds officers to be patient.

Patched District:

"The following districts will be patched on today's date for the duration of the afternoon watch from 14:30 - 22:30

District 1, District 2, and SODD
District 3 and District 4
District 5 and District 5

Please keep in mind that we have one dispatcher handling three radio channels so please be patient"

KMOX has reached out to Mayor Tishaura Jones' spokesperson and the St. Louis Police Association for an explanation on the jail situation, but we are waiting to hear back.
