KMOX News confirms with Saint Louis Galleria owner Brookfield Properties that Dick's House of Sport, a new-to-the-market, experiential retail concept from Dick's Sporting Goods, will replace the closing Nordstrom.
The first iteration of Dick's House of Sport opened in New York state in 2021. The stores boast amenities like a turf field and track, rock-climbing wall, golf simulator hitting bays, a putting green, and pro shops, a batting cage, yoga, and equipment services like glove steaming and racquet stringing.
Retail Dive took a look at the concept in 2021, writing, "The outdoor field, for example, is open year-round for customers to practice on, with their teams or by themselves, and will feature an ice rink in the winter."
KMOX has reached out to Dick's Sporting Goods for more information.

The Nordstrom at the Saint Louis Galleria shopping mall in Richmond Heights is closing. Last day to shop is August 24th.
The department store confirms the 144,000 square feet store's closure to KMOX. A statement sent to the newsroom says, quote, "We believe we’ll be best able to serve customers in the area by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels."
Seattle-based and privately-held Nordstrom will continue to operate two area Nordstrom Rack stores and a full department store at West County Center. Employees may have the opportunity to transfer to those locations.
"We’re committed to taking care of our employees through this transition, including supporting those who are interested in finding another role within Nordstrom," spokesman Silas Hill wrote.
The Nordstrom location at the Saint Louis Galleria opened in 2011.
"We've been serving customers in the St. Louis market for nine years and couldn't be happier to open a second store at Saint Louis Galleria," the store manager at the time, Beth McAuley, said.
The Nordstrom replaced another luxury department store chain at the Galleria, Lord & Taylor, which closed in 2006. Lord & Taylor had opened local stores while owned by St. Louis-based May Department Stores. The Galleria anchor position was then vacant for five years before Nordstrom opened.
