In his first comments to the press since his indictment, St. Louis County Executive Sam Page maintains his innocence.

"I don't believe I've done anything wrong," said Page at a ribbon cutting in Ballwin, adding "we'll cooperate fully with the investigation and we'll continue to do the important work of St. Louis County."

While Page has not resigned, he has softened his commitment to running for re-election. Despite telling the St. Louis Bussiness Journal in April he wants to run again, Page was noncommittal when KMOX asked him about his plans.

"We'll make that decision at the end of the year," said Page. When KMOX followed up about Page not yet making a decision, he said "You always keep your options open but I'll make a formal announcement by the end of the year."

Page is due in court for the first time for his arraignment on August 29th. Could the legal process distract him from his role as County Executive? Page pushed back on that notion.

"I'm gonna keep doing the work of St. Louis County, like building roads... like making sure that our County operations run and I'm honored to have the opportunity do it."

Page faces two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts.
