The suspect in the tragedy of a visiting volleyball player appeared in court Monday.
The parents of a 17-year-old girl from Tennessee who lost her legs in a downtown crash were in a St. Louis courtroom for the bail hearing of Daniel Riley.
They remain in town as the girl faces additional surgeries, and the mother told the judge Janae Edmondson says she doesn't want Riley to hurt anyone else like he did to her.
The father said he could still hear the roar of the engine from Riley's car as it blew through a yield sign, causing a chain of collisions that pinned Janae.
The emotional hearing concluded with the judge ruling Riley to remain in jail on second-degree assault charges, along with driving without a license.
