ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers who use Interstate 64 between St. Louis City and Illinois and drivers who use the Interstate 44 and Interstate 270 interchange in southwest St. Louis County should be prepared for additional delays this weekend.
Friday night, crews will close I-64 between I-44/I-55 and Grand Blvd. to set girders for the Ewing bridge and the 22nd Street bridge starting at 6:30 p.m.
Also on Friday night, the westbound lanes of I-44 at I-270 will be closing to install a new girder. Signed detours on I-64 and at I-44/I-270 will direct drivers around the girder work.
Both highways are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday and all work is "weather permitting" and subject to change.
