HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) - A number of bystanders at a gas station in St. Louis County subdued a suspect attempting to drive away in a stolen car, police say.
The carjacker, who police say is a juvenile, jumped into a vehicle that was left running at a gas pump at the station in Hazelwood. Police say the victim attempted to stop the suspect, but then was hit by his own vehicle while the suspect was driving.
Police say the suspect ran into four other vehicles while attempting to get away.
When police arrived at the gas station at Howdershell and Dunn Roads on Monday night just after 8 p.m., several citizens had already subdued the subject.
Police say the victim suffered minor injuries after being hit by his vehicle and was taken to the hospital. No one else was hurt, police say.
