A plan to clean up and beautify some St. Louis highways took place earlier this spring, and part two is coming in October.
KMOX's Charlie Brennan is working with Bank of America on a project to plant daffodils along some of the highways and streets in the city. Now, the project is looking for volunteers this October to plant the bulbs.
"We know we can do it, and planting a daffodil is so simple that even I can do it, as long as I've got a shovel, or whatever device you use," Brennan said. "And I'll say that on my travels, our family did stop in Victoria, British Columbia, and maybe like no other city, Victoria shows you how you can really enhance the landscape with plant material flowers."
Katie Fischer, Market Executive at Bank of America, said it'll make the region brighter and blooming.
"I think just the image and the experience that again our residents and our visitors alike will have as they travel down the highways will be a positive one," she said.
In Missouri, Brennan said, October and November are the best times to plant dafodil bulbs. Plus, it coincides with the 175th anniversary of Bowman's Bank -- which is now Bank of America.
