Public Safety Director Dan Isom tells KMOX it is too early in the investigation to know if police trying to stop the erratic driver, who eventually crashed and killed the pedestrian, was a contributing factor. "Then the only way to mitigate any possible danger for anyone would be not to attempt to pull anyone over at all. That is the challenge."

KMOX News asked Isom about recent meetings with the NAACP and Department of Justice. "I think we agreed that being more transparent about our policies is important, more transparent about the outcomes."

Isom other topics are on the table like additional training for police and even the use of technology, opposed to police physically pursuing vehicles.
