Collinsville Middle School says students alerted them to a post by a classmate on social media Wednesday night.

A statement from the school did not elaborate on the nature of the threat against the school. Police contacted the family of the student.

School officials say additional safety measures are being taken, but they don't believe students are in any danger. They're applauding the students who reported the post.
