ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis County Prosecutor has charged a 25-year old man with unlawful possession of a firearm and leaving the scene of an accident .
Earlier this month in Maryland Heights, Cortez Smith was accused of crashing into a light post at the McDonald's on Dorsett .
As Police approached the vehicle, the driver got out and ran, holding a .40 caliber gun his hand.
Police eventually took Cortez into custody In addition to the gun in his possession, police found another gun inside the vehicle.
The vehicle Cortez was driving had been reported stolen from South County Dodge.
He's being held on a 150-thousand dollar cash only bond.
