PEVELY, Mo. (KMOX) - It was apparently posted as a joke, but Pevely Police want to make sure no one is fooled into making plans to spend money on it.

A recent series of Facebook posts say the Pevely Flea Market, which has been closed since 2013, will reopen on September 4. Captain Larry Miller says it's a hoax.

"There is no application for a business license or anything so we confirmed it isn't true," Miller said. "Of course when you look at what they were going to have at the event it's kind of far fetched."

The posts claimed former President Donald Trump will be speaking there. It also said the band Poison will play, but had a picture of the Oak Ridge Boys. And another post says Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali will be fighting there.

Miller says it may have been put up by someone in Barnhart who runs a humorous Facebook group. It is not asking for any money.
