Earlier this month, 16-year-old Darryl Ross was shot by police after he ran from a gas station and police purported that he reached for a weapon.

St. Louis police did not release surveillance video of the shooting to the public or the media. But KMOX heard from Reverend Darryl Gray, who commends Public Safety Director Dan Isom for making the video available to clergy and community leaders.

"It is very clear to me that there owuld be no questions thta oculd be asked of the police bc this is an active investigation, and we understood and appreciate that, we appreciate the fact that police officers deserve due process."

Reverend Gray said the video was disturbing, showing young people with guns -- including Darryl Ross.

"The latter part of the video he was shot, we made it very clear that it's not our place at this time to proclaim justified or not, police guilty or not," he said.

Reverend Gray added that the video has no sound, making it difficult to interpret, but stresses the necessity for police body cameras. The officers who killed Darryl Ross were undercover and do not wear body cams. He said if a police officer feels as though there life is in jeopardy and they pull their gun, there needs to be accountability.
