The Bonne Terre Police Department is providing an update regarding the stabbing incident that occurred on January 10, 2026, in the area of Huff Court, Bonne Terre, Missouri.
As a result of continued investigation, the incident has been determined to be an apparent act of domestic violence involving an attempted murder, followed by an attempted suicide.
The victim remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. The assailant, identified as the victim’s fiancé, is also hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
At this time, investigators are working in coordination with the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to seek formal charges against the assailant. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
