A mixture of sleet, freezing rain and snow hit Missouri and surrounding states Sunday. Blizzard warnings were posted in the northwestern and west-central parts of Missouri. In St. Louis, several inches fell and more was expected.
The precipitation led to several major accidents on the roads, with cars and tractor-trailers sliding off highways. MetroBuses experienced some delays and Lambert Airport saw dozens of flights cancelled. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Monday.
