"They're not just going up into the clouds and dissipating. They're coming down somewhere."
She's talking about bullets and now she needs a new roof. Joy lives in Soulard and talked with our Maria Keena about the problem that apparently is more pervasive than you think.

Joe is the owner of Crane Roofing.
"It can immediately cause a leak but most of them do not make it through the decking."
Joe says it would likely take several bullets to do enough damage for a whole roof replacement. Typically he replaces a shingle or two and that fixes the issue.
"It's usually a pretty simple repair. It's not really so much about the repair though, it's more about the actual cause of it that is kind of alarming."
We asked St. Louis Police for an interview. They encourage residents to make a police report. We also asked police if this is a pervasive problem in the City, they said they don't track those types of incidents.
