ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - More props are coming in for the St. Louis food scene as a restaurant has been named to a list of the 100 Best Neighborhood Gems in American.
The list from OpenTable highlights the eateries that contribute to the character of their neighborhoods and welcome diners in with exceptional hospitality. Trattoria Marcella in south St. Louis landed on this year’s list.
The restaurant touts its consistent ranking as St. Louis' best spot for Italian “soul food” with a twist. It was opened in 1955 and is located at the corner of Watson Road and Pernod Avenue in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood of south city.

The list of honorees was determined after analyzing internal data generated solely from diner reviews collected between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the sum of tags for which “neighborhood gems” and “outdoor dining” was selected as a special feature.
