'Heroic actions' by cop to save elderly man, carry disabled woman out of burning St. Charles County home

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo (KMOX) - A police officer is being lauded for his "heroic actions" in rescuing two people from a raging house fire in St. Charles County on Monday afternoon.

Central County Fire & Rescue says St. Charles County Police Officer Ronald was first on the scene of a burning home that had two residents trapped inside. The fire was mainly in the garage but beginning to travel into the home, firefighters say.

Before firefighters had even arrived, the officer forced his way the home and first found an elderly man in the kitchen. Ronald ushered the man outside to another officer, then went back in for the other resident.

The officer found a disabled woman in bed, lifted her in his arms and carried her out of the home to safety, authorities say.

The Cottleville Fire Protection District thanked both the officers for their heroics in a social media post with photos of the fire:
