Six teenagers are in custody after a shooting at a Cracker Barrel in St. Charles, police report.
The shooting took place early Monday morning. A 52-year-old employee was shot and wounded, but is reportedly expected to survive. The altercation took place when the worker confronted someone who appeared to be breaking into his car early in the morning before the Cracker Barrel opened.
The six teens — three girls, three boys — took off after the shooting, then got a flat tire at the nearby high school and fled on foot to Champ Landfill. It took police a couple hours to find them all.
The teen girls are considered witnesses, while the boys — aged 14, 15 and 16 — are expected to face juvenile charges.
