The St. Clair County Health Department reported its first CDC-confirmed case of Monkeypox on Wednesday.
The person who tested positive isolated per CDC guidelines, and according to an investigation they had minimal contact with the public.
According to CDC data, Missouri currently has 17 cases of the virus. Illinois is currently reporting 701 cases, which includes all probable and confirmed cases.
