ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Board of Aldermen could fast-track a couple of tornado relief bills to passage by the coming weekend.

First-reading was held Tuesday morning during an emergency session. Second-reading is planned for Wednesday and a vote on Friday.

Alderman Rasheen Aldridge is the sponsor of legislation to expand the city's "Impacted Tenants Fund" to include natural disaster victims. He told KMOX, "To make sure that individuals that have been impacted by the May 16th tornado whose homes may be condemned, that may be moving, can get some relief funds when it comes to a down-payment on an apartment, either first or last month's rent."

We're told there's currently enough available funds to help 100 tenants relocate within the city.

The other bill would place a freeze on property taxes where homes were heavily-damaged or destroyed by the twister.
