ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals, Bally Sports Midwest, and the American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis all teamed up for the 21st annual St. Louis Cardinals Blood Drive, which went underway on Monday, June 10.

From June 10-13, fans can head to 22 locations in the Greater St. Louis Metro area to donate blood. All locations will be go from 12-6 p.m.

Busch Stadium kicked off the drive on Monday.

"The Cardinals Blood Drive comes at a critical time of the year as blood donations tend to decline during the summer months," said Beth Elders, executive director of the Greater St. Louis chapter in a release. "We are so grateful for the ongoing partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals on this blood drive and look forward to seeing everyone who comes out to give the gift of life."

Donors of all blood types are needed at this year’s St. Louis Cardinals Blood Drive.

Those with types O, A negative and B negative blood are encouraged to make a Power Red donation at this blood drive.

Power Red donors give a concentrated dose of red blood cells during a single donation, allowing them to maximize their impact. During a power red donation, red blood cells are separated from other blood components, and the plasma and platelets are safely and comfortably returned to the donor.

Donors wishing to donate are encouraged to make an appointment by visiting the Cardinals website.

Everyone who attempts to donate will receive a limited-edition St. Louis Cardinals T-shirt, while supplies last, and they will also get a chance to win prizes including a autographed Paul Goldschmidt photo, an autographed Matt Carpenter baseball, and an autographed Dylan Carlson baseball.
