St. Louis crime stats: More than 90 people killed in first half of 2021

Police release crime statistics through June; most aggravated assaults were shootings

St. Louis (KMOX) - St. Louis police are out with crime statistics for the first half of 2021.

Those numbers show more than 90 people killed and nearly 1,200 aggravated assaults -- most of which were shootings.

In addition, almost 1,800 cars were stolen, more than 1,800 cars got broken into, and there were more than 800 burglaries.

There were also more than 3,000 acts of vandalism in St. Louis City.

If you look at just the downtown St. Louis numbers, more than 50 aggravated assaults took place in the first half of 2021, almost 100 cars got stolen, and more than 200 cars were broken into.
