WATCH: St. Louis hospital unboxes first doses of COVID-19 vaccine

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer arrived at a pair of Mercy Hospitals in the St. Louis area Monday and we've got a look at the unboxing and storage process.

The first round of vaccines will begin to be given out to select healthcare workers at Mercy South on Tesson Ferry Road and Mercy St. Louis on New Ballas Road on Monday afternoon.

Other local hospitals say they are standing by for details on when the vaccine will show up and they're able to start putting it into the arms of their healthcare workers.

The video at the top of the page shows the unboxing process and quick storage of the doses into an ultra-cold freezer.
