St. Louis police say shots were fired at officers in West End; no officers were injured

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says shots were fired at officers at West End neighborhood Thursday afternoon. However, no officers were injured from the incident and officers did not fire back.

At around noon Thursday, officers were called to the intersection of Amherst Place and Julian Avenue regarding reports of a disturbance involving a man with a gun.


When officers arrived, a man who was carrying a gun took off running. The man would fire off a shot.

Police say no officers suffered any injuries and officers did not return fire.

The man, who was a convicted felon, was taken into custody and was also not injured.
