St. Louis won points for empty parking lots turned communal veggie gardens, rooftop container gardens, vertical plant walls and more. The report says the Gateway to the West is also the gateway to urban agriculture, with the most access to gardening space.
Lawn Starter cites Urban Harvest STL, a non-profit network of urban farms that donate most of the harvest to under-served populations.
