St. Louis (KMOX) -- The St. Louis Zoo is requiring its employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The policy requires employees with full and part-time benefits to complete the vaccine series by October 15th.

All employees must be vaccinated by the end of the year.

Currently, about 70-percent of the zoo's workers have been vaccinated with 93-percent of full-time workers already inoculated against COVID-19.

No requirement for visitors is expected to be imposed.
