Investigative Services Major Shawn Dace says because they don't yet have anyone in custody, they can't say whoever murdered the three between September 13th and 19th, is not a serial killer.

"Until we can iron out a suspect, or suspects, it would be reckless on our part to say anything different," he says.

Dace says city and St. Louis County police are working with the FBI on the killings of a 16-year-old girl in Jennings on Sept. 13, a 49-year-old woman on Sept. 16, and a 24-year-old man in St. Louis on Sept. 19.

Investigators say evidence indicates the killings are related, but Dace says they can't say publicly what that evidence consists of.

"Some things are so sensitive to the case," he says, "We don't want it getting out there to any suspect or suspects."

He's urging anyone who may have some information to call police or Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
