ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Are you a coffee snob?
You can learn the secrets of the top coffee baristas at an event at City Foundry later this month.
STLCoffeeFest is Saturday, Feb. 22 at 18 Rails at City Foundry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and according to founder Bonnie Mann, it is "a daylong celebration of coffee."
"Imagine coffee heaven and everything you sip, sample, see, learn and hear is all about coffee," said Mann on Total Information A.M.
Mann says when choosing the coffee companies and experts for the event, she tries to find the perfect combination of "local roasters and cafes, artisans food companies and people who are really representing St. Louis."
"All together, they can bring St. Louis' best under one roof and everything you will see there is either coffee specific or coffee adjacent," said Mann.
There will be a number of workshops available that people can attend during the event, including a workshop on coffee cupping.
"Cupping is a term professional roasters and coffee tasters use," said Mann. "It's a very scientific method for tasting coffee, measuring the quality, consistency after it's been roasted."
