SAINT LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - We'll have a warmer winter across the Midwest thanks to the Super El Nino. Chad Merrill, Senior Meteorologist at AccuWeather, says the warm Pacific weather pattern will keep the cold air blasts away as we start the winter in St. Louis.

"What we're looking at is December will likely be pretty warm, across the Midwest" says Merrill. "As for precipitation, we'll likely see an increase in precipitation." But that doesn't mean we'll have more snow. "We're expecting snowfall to be just below average." The snow will come later in the season in January and February.

Merrill adds, it could end up being one of the top 20 warmest winters on record in St. Louis.
