CREVE COEUR (KMOX) - Authorities pulled the body of a 14-year-old boy from Creve Coeur Lake on Thursday night. His death is already the seventh drowning in the area this month.
Rescuers responded around 7 p.m. to calls from the boy's family. They were swimming when he went under and never resurfaced. He was not wearing a life jacket.
Authorities say they recovered the body just 20 feet from the shore.
It's the four drowning this week in the St. Louis area. There have also been at least a dozen water-related deaths in Missouri since the start of the month, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
