Texas trucker dies in St. Louis County crash

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a truck driver from Texas died in a fiery crash in St. Louis County, Friday night.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) - An over-the-road truck driver was killed late Friday in a collision with an SUV in in north St. Louis County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says it happened on westbound Interstate 270 past New Florissant.

The SUV first hit a concrete barrier before striking the truck cab and causing it to drag along a guardrail ... eject the driver.... and catch fire.

Troopers say 55-year-old Rosa Rodriguez of Amarillo Texas died at the scene.

Her passenger, 50-year-old Sergio Alvarez of Amarillo, was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Irvin Neal of Fairview Heights, also suffered major injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
