It was 15 years ago this week that a gunman attacked a City Council meeting at Kirkwood City Hall, killing two police officers, two council members and the public works director, and wounding two others — including the mayor — before he was shot and killed by police.
KMOX's Michael Calhoun was the first one on the scene. He was headed to a police graduation ceremony for another story when KMOX anchor John O'Connor called him, and urgently told him to head to City Hall. Calhoun was joined shortly after by KMOX's Megan Lynch.
