PHOTOS: Tornado debris found almost 5 miles from shredded St. Charles County home

DEFIANCE, Mo. (KMOX) - Large pieces of debris from a home in St. Charles County that was shredded by the EF-3 tornado on Dec. 10 were found nearly 5 miles away, according to the National Weather Service.

A map shared by officials shows the location of the home in Defiance, Missouri and a photo with part of its roof torn off. Then a line shows how far pieces of the home traveled, likely during the storm, and where they ended up on Howell Island in the middle of the Missouri River.

That's 4.75 miles away.

Below are more images of the damage left in Defiance after the tornado which killed one person. Ollie Borgmann, 84, died at a hospital after the tornado blew her home off its foundation.
