ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — It appears manners and good people are not gone after all in St. Louis. In fact, we're some of the nicest in all of the U.S., according to a new study.
According to the popular ride-sharing app Uber, St. Louis passengers are No. 2 on the list of cities with a record for having the best manners. A trend among most riders in the Midwest and Sun Belt. While New York City is No. 1 for the rudest passengers.
The Uber rankings are determined by the average rider ratings provided by company drivers. When ranking passengers, they take into account whether they arrive on time, are courteous to their drivers, and even leave trash inside the vehicle.
Several recent incidents involving riders have resulted in assaults and thefts against New York City drivers.

Ahead of the Big Apple, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Boston and Minneapolis-St. Paul round out the top five rudest cities in the United States. San Francisco, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Baltimore and Chicago followed.
Meanwhile, Uber found that passengers inland are seemingly nicer. San Antonio, Texas, has the highest average rider rating, followed by St. Louis, Nashville, Salt Lake City and Kansas City, Missouri.
Sacramento, Tampa Bay, Charlotte, Las Vegas, and Portland round out the nicest cities list.
Uber released the data as part of the launch of its new "privacy center" feature, which allows passengers to see how drivers rate them and receive tips on how to improve their score.
"We hope that by giving users a peek into how their rating is calculated, we can help encourage positive experiences between riders and drivers on every trip," Uber privacy product manager Zach Singleton said.
