A shooting in Highland Park, Illinois -- a suburb north of Chicago -- left six dead and more than two dozen injured.

CBS's Jim Krasula has been covering the mass shooting in Highland Park and joined Total Information AM to discuss what we know about the shooting so far.

The suspected shooter is 21-year-old Robert E. Crimino III.

"One of the the ironies I think, in all of this is the mayor we just heard from Nancy Roderick. She was the Cub Scout leader of this young man a little over 10 years ago, 15 years ago," Krasula said. "So she knows him. She describes him as, from what she remembers, being quiet being a nice kid."

Krasula said Crimino bought the gun he used legally.

"That's all we know at this point. The mayor said this morning that he obtained this weapon legally," he said. "The police haven't even indicated as to what kind of weapon that was -- apparently some kind of an assault weapon."
